Bio

Antolin lives with his mom, dad, and baby sister Abigail. His dad works all year for San Antonio (the sugar cane company). During the planting/harvesting season, he works in the fields and then during the remaining six months of the year he works in other parts of the company. Antolin is in his last year of preschool and will be graduating in November 2013. He loves school, especially coloring. In his free time, Antolin likes to help his mom around the house. He longs to study and sponsorship would allow him to study consistently and dream for a better future.

April 2016

Antolin is so excited to be sponsored! He started second grade in February 2016. He received his uniform, shoes, backpack, school supplies and an athletic outfit to participate in his PE class. Antolin is an extremely bright boy. He is an excellent reader and loves books! Antolin attends a semi-private school within the sugar cane company. This gives him the opportunity to study English, even in elementary school. In his math class, he is learning to tell time. In Language & Literature, they are working to decode words with consonant blends as well as writing sentences and riddles. We are so excited to see how Antolin will grow through this program.

Fall 2016

Antolin loved having the opportunity to meet you when you visited Nicaragua in March. He was also very thankful for the gifts that you sent to him. His face lit up when he saw his new children’s Bible and toys. Antolin continues to excel in second grade. He is an extremely bright student and has all A’s in his classes. We are so proud of his hard work! For a project in his civics class, Antolin learned and performed a traditional Nicaraguan folk dance. Thanks to his sponsorship, Antolin received medical care and medicine at the New Song clinic. He also received his new uniform and shoes for the second semester of classes. Although many people are without work during this time of year, Antolin’s parents have both been able to find consistent jobs. His dad is working in a local business and his mom recently began serving at a local restaurant. The family was recently able to move into a new home.
