Bio

Ashley lives with her mom and older brother, Jovanny. Ashley’s father passed away in February 2015 from chronic kidney disease. Their family has been grieving this loss greatly. Ashley’s mom is now struggling with how to care for her children as a newly single mom. It is difficult for her to find work where she will still be home to care for her kids when they come home from school. Without sponsorship, it will be difficult for Ashley and Jovanny to continue studying. Ashley is currently in preschool. She dreams of becoming a doctor. Sponsorship can help her study consistently and achieve her dreams.

November 2015

Ashley and her family are so excited about her sponsorship. She was thrilled to receive her uniform, shoes, backpack and school supplies. Ashley and her family are healing following the death of her father earlier this year. Her mom continues to work repairing clothes from their home in order to support her children as a single mother. They enjoyed the opportunity to visit with you and to meet you in person. Ashley loves to attend school and learn new things! She has been learning her vowels, colors, and numbers. Through her sponsorship, Ashley has been able to receive medical care and medicine through the New Song clinic. Sponsorship has been such a blessing to their family!

April 2016

Ashley started her final year of preschool in February 2016. She received her uniform, shoes, backpack, school supplies, and an athletic outfit to participate in PE. Ashley loves learning her vowels although she said that pronouncing the vowel sounds can be difficult. Her favorite assignments in school are when she is able to draw. Through her sponsorship Ashley was able to receive medical care and medicine at the New Song clinic in order to treat an infection in her throat. She and her family were thrilled to have the opportunity to visit with you as you were in Nicaragua again this year.

Fall 2016

Ashley has been coming out of her shell more this year. She is becoming less shy and more open. It has been so fun to see more of her personality this year! Ashley loves to play at home with her big brother, Jovanny. He is often inventing things for them to build and she loves to follow his lead. Ashley also loves going to school each day and is looking forward to her graduation at the end of the year. Her school is already collecting funds for her promotion and Ashley’s sponsorship has been able to cover these costs. Ashley also received a new uniform and pair of shoes for the second semester of classes. Through her sponsorship, Ashley received medical care and medicine at the New Song clinic.
