Josue is no longer working in the moringa fields at New Song, but he continues to work as a Sunday school teacher and to help support the pastors in their work in the church.

April 2016

Elias began his fifth and final year of high school at the beginning of February. Thanks to his sponsorship, he received his uniform, backpack, shoes, school supplies, and an athletic outfit to be able to participate in his physical education class. This has been a difficult year academically and he has had a very heavy course load. In his classes, he is learning about the Nicaraguan poet and author, Ruben Dario. Elias continues to teach Sunday school with the youngest boy class.

Fall 2016

Josue received his second uniform and pair of school shoes of the year in July. He is halfway through his final year of high school! He is doing well in most of his class with top grades in biology (90%), physics (85%), and English (81%). Josue participated in the science fair in which he and his team created a tea to show at the fair. They won first place in Chichigalpa and then went on to compete in Managua. Through his sponsorship, he received his needed school supplies and was able to go on a field trip with his class. We are excited for Josue’s graduation in December!
