Geovanny continues to enjoy his English class, due in large part to the teacher investing in the students’ learning. He is currently boasting a 97% in that class, and is quite proud of it, as well as that he will be playing the bass**(bajo) in the marching band this year. Geovanny did originally fail his geography class, but was able to do a make up test that has now brought his grade up to passing for the year. He has received a new uniform and shoes to see him through to the end of the year, and has been enjoying getting to work with and learn from his father on various metal projects around town.

January 5, 2015

Geovanny did a great job playing the bass drum in the marching band last September. He continues to enjoy his English class, but in addition to having failed his geography class earlier in the year, he did not receive passing grades for Math or History. He will have a chance to replace those grades with a make-up test, and is studying hard to make sure he will be able to move on with his friends. Geovanny turned 15 in November, and was excited to spend some time with his aunt in Managua after school got out. He plans to continue helping his father at work and to study hard while on holiday. Geovanny and his family will be receiving a water filter through donation to New Song that will ensure them access to safe drinking water for the next 3 - 4 years.
