Bio

Gracielita is a precocious girl, full of energy and joy. She lives with her mother and older sister, as well as a handful of cousins and her grandmother. Her father lives outside of Leon where he works as a security guard, and sends money occasionally to help out with expenses. Gracielita is going into 2nd grade this year, and loves her language arts class. She also enjoys playing house, reading, and coloring, and hopes to be a nurse when she grows up.

April 2016

Gracielita began the new school year in the beginning of February. She is such a sweet little girl who loves school. Gracielita and her family are so thankful that she is sponsored this year. It is a huge help to her family as they do not have work that lasts throughout the year, She was glad to begin school again this year. Thanks to her sponsorship, she received her uniform, backpack, school supplies, shoes, and an athletic outfit to be able to participate in her physical education class. In her math class, Gracielita is learning how to solve problems and to count between 1,000 and 10,000. She was so thankful to have the opportunity to meet you and spend some time with you. She was also excited to receive the gift you sent for her.

Fall 2016

Gracielita received her new uniform and pair of shoes for the second semester of classes. Her teacher says that she is a hardworking student and faithfully attends classes. Although her works hard, Gracielita has low grades in her core classes and maintains a C average overall. In math, the class has begun to study division, a skill which is difficult for many students. Through her sponsorship, Gracielita was able to participate in a project for her Cultural Studies class where she performed a traditional Nicaraguan folk dance. She was also able to receive additional school supplies to complete class projects.
