Keren has been doing well in 5th grade. She once again is an incredible student! All of her grades are 97% or above and she has 100% in the majority of her classes. We are so proud of Keren’s hard work and her continued academic success. Her teacher says that Keren is a delight to have in class. She is extremely intelligent, works hard, and participates well in class. Through her sponsorship, Keren received an athletic outfit in order to fully participate in her PE class. She also received funds in order to cook a traditional Nicaraguan dish to share with her class as they studied Nicaraguan culture and foods in their Cultural Studies class. Keren continues to be an active part of her church’s Sunday school. Keren loves to come to Sunday school to sing songs and to learn more about God.

She comments that this has been an easy year for her and that she is excited about graduating and moving up to high school. Last year, Keren was one of two students given the award for the top grades in elementary school. We are so proud of how hard she is working and expect big things from her.

Fall 2016

Keren received her second uniform of the year in July. She is halfway through her last year of elementary school and will celebrate her graduation in December. We are so proud of her accomplishments as she continues to maintain great grades. All of her grades on her second report card were between 94% and 100%. She is such an intelligent student. The most interesting thing that Keren says she has learned has been about the different kinds of illnesses and diseases that exist. In her culture class, they learned how to make crepe paper flowers. Keren really enjoyed making this project. Through her sponsorship, she received all of her needed school supplies including notebooks, pens, pencils, and crayons. Her school also had a school-wide event celebrating typical Nicaraguan foods. Sponsorship helped provide the funds for this event and the church came together to cook for the school. Keren also received her annual dental cleaning and fluoride treatment through the New Song Dental Clinic. Recently, her community was without running water for a couple of weeks. Sponsorship provided the local school with a bucket for every classroom so that the students could have drinking water while in class.
