Bio

Keyling lives with her mom and two older siblings. Her parents recently separated. Since her parents’ separation, the family has been struggling financially. Keyling will be in 3rd grade when school starts again in February 2014. In her free time, she likes to play with dolls and go to the church. She has such a sassy personality and instantly befriends any visitors to the church. Keyling still isn’t sure what she wants to be when she grows up, but sponsorship is helping her to dream for a better future.

April 16, 2015

Keyling finished off the school year strong, and is looking forward to starting fourth grade in February. Her highest grades for the year were in Civics and PE, in both of which she earned an 88. She enjoyed getting to celebrate her friends graduating from primary school, and is anxious to do so herself in the next few years. Keyling has been enjoying her time off from school, especially as it allows her more free time to play with her friends! She and her family attended a water safety seminar in December, and went home with a water filter provided by an outside donor through New Song that will give them access to clean drinking water for up to 3 years.

May 29, 2015

Keyling began the new school year at the beginning of February. Through her sponsorship, she received her backpack, uniform, school shoes, and the supplies she needed for the beginning of the year. Keyling received her first report card of the new year. She is passing all of her classes with top grades in her cultural class (90%) and physical education (86%). She is struggling some in her Social studies class. Keyling attends school consistently and is almost always on time. Keyling’s older sister is pregnant and is due at the end of May. She is currently living at home with Keyling and her parents. Keyling is excited to help take care of her new nephew. Please be praying for her family during this new season. Her sponsorship was able to cover the costs needed to repair Keyling’s bed so that she could actually sleep in it. Through her sponsorship, Keyling received funds to participate in her school’s Mother’s Day and International Kid’s day celebrations.

December 2015

Keyling raised all of her grades on her second report card of the year. We are proud of how hard she is working to do well. Her top grades are in culture (95%), physical education (90%), and language arts (88%). In her math class, she is studying division of numbers with 2-3 digits. Because of her good grades, Keyling was able to participate in the Independence Day Parade with the top students of her class. She was so proud to be able to be a part of this event. Her sponsorship was able to cover the costs of the activity. Through her sponsorship, she received her second uniform and pair of school shoes of the year as well as medical care from the New Song Clinic when she was sick. Keyling participated in an activity learning about traditional Nicaraguan dishes as well as received funds to cover her textbooks for protection.

April 2016

Keyling began 5th grade in February. She received her uniform, shoes, backpack, school supplies and an athletic outfit to participate in her PE class. This year sponsorship also provided Keyling with an id card that allows her to do research at a local cyber café. This will allow her to complete investigations for her classes. Keyling has been learning about how plants reproduce in her science class. In math they have been working on division of large numbers. Keyling has enjoyed spending time with her baby nephew.
