Bio

Neisa lives with her parents and four older siblings in a small house made of pieces of tin. Her family is very loving and full of joy. Her parents struggle to meet the needs of their large family. In 2010, Neisa's dad was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. He is no longer able to work and receives no pension. Her mom makes tortillas and tamales to sell in order to try to meet their families basic needs. Neisa is starting her first year of preschool in February 2014. She is so thrilled to attend school and begin to learn new things. Sponsorship will allow Neisa to study consistently despite her families inconsistent income and to dream for a better future.

January 5, 2015

Neisa and her family are thrilled that she is sponsored - and are equally excited to be sending her off to preschool this upcoming school year. She has been watching her older brothers studying, and can't wait to get started herself! Neisa is always so full of energy, and loves to get involved in whatever is going on around the house, from playing with the animals to helping make tortillas. Her grandmother recently passed away, which has been hard on the entire family, but Neisa's joyful spirit helps everyone focus back on the present. Sponsorship has allowed her family to receive food provision and for Neisa to get successful treatment for an infected sore on her leg.

June 13, 2015

Neisa began her last year of preschool at a local private preschool. Neisa received her new uniform, shoes, backpack, and school supplies. She absolutely loves her school and looks forward to going every day! Neisa’s teacher says that she is the best and most attentive student in the class. Neisa is always bragging to her mom about how well she does in her classes and how she comes to school looking beautiful in her uniform and backpack from the sponsorship program. When her dad was sick and unable to work, sponsorship helped cover the cost of her school fees. Sponsorship has also helped to provide Neisa with an athletic outfit to participate in PE and a book that she needs for her classes. When their family was going through a difficult financial time, sponsorship was able to provide them with food provisions. Neisa also visited the New Song clinic where she received free medical care and medicine. Neisa and her family are so thankful to participate in this program. Neisa loves having the opportunity to study consistently and is looking forward to her preschool graduation in December 2015.

August 2015

Neisa continues to excel in preschool. She loves her school and has been learning her vowels, numbers 1-10, and colors. Neisa loves to learn! Neisa’s mom has had some pain recently and ended up in the hospital. Sponsorship was able to cover Neisa’s school tuition so that she was able to continue studying while her mom was unable to work. Thankfully, her mom is doing much better and is back to making tortillas everyday. Neisa received a new uniform and pair of shoes for the second semester of classes. She was able to participate in the Mother’s Day and Children’s day celebrations at her school. Neisa was also able to complete special class projects. When Neisa was sick, she was able to receive free medical care and medicine through the clinic at New Song. We love to see Neisa continue to grow this year!

November 2015

Although Neisa is an excellent student and has met her academic standards for preschool, her family and the school realized that she will not be old enough to enter first grade. Neisa will remain in preschool for one more year, graduate at the end of 2016, and move onto first grade the following year when she is six years old. She has been learning to color staying within the lines, identifying day/night, learning her letters and numbers, and practicing fine motor skills. Sponsorship has continued to help cover the cost of her private preschool.

April 2016
