Bio

Ronnie lives with his mom, grandma and older sister. His father has never been involved in his life. Ronni’s mom struggles to provide for her children as a single mother. They are unable to build their own home so they are living in the grandma’s house. Ronnie will begin 2nd grade in February 2014. His favorite class is math. He loves to play with toy cars with his cousins and neighbors. He has a sweet disposition and bright smile. He dreams of becoming a mechanic when he grows up.

April 22, 2015

Ronnie finished the second grade at the end of November and began his third grade year at the beginning of February. He enjoyed his break from classes but is enjoying being back with his friends. Ronnie received his uniform, school shoes, backpack, and supplies to begin the new year. In math, Ronnie is learning and practicing adding large, multi digit numbers. Ronnie was able to go to the New Song Clinic and receive medicine when he wasn’t feeling well. Through his sponsorship, Ronnie went to get his annual dental cleaning and fluoride treatment. We are excited about this new initiative to promote dental hygiene and protection. In December, Ronnie and his family received a water filter and a teaching on water borne illnesses. This will provide them with clean drinking water for the next several years.

July 2015

Ronnie is working hard in his third grade year. He likes is math and Spanish classes. Ronnie comments that he has been working to behave better in class. He received his second uniform and school shoes of the year through his sponsorship as well as extra school supplies to complete class assignments. Ronnie was able to visit the New Song Clinic and receive medicine when he wasn’t feeling well. He also visited the dentist and had a tooth pulled that was hurting him. His school had several events celebrating Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and International Kids’ Day. Ronnie was able to participate in these events with the help of his sponsorship. In July, he had a week long school break during which he celebrated his birthday. He celebrated and played with his family and neighbors.

November 2015

Ronnie is excited to be on vacation from school. He worked hard this year and improved in his conduct in classes. He finished is third grade year and will pass up to fourth grade when classes begin again at the beginning of February. His top grades were in culture (90%) and physical education (90%). Ronnie’s favorite classes are math and language arts. He especially likes to read and write sentences. Ronnie is a member of the youngest team in New Song’s new baseball team. He loves to play and is practicing hard to become a better ball player.

April 2016

Ronnie began fourth grade in February 2016. He received his uniform, shoes, backpack, school supplies and an athletic outfit to participate in his PE class. Ronnie favorite class is Language & Literature because he likes to practice dialogues and simple sentences. Although science is his most difficult class, Ronnie is proud of himself because he can now identify which animals are herbivores. Ronnie continues to work to improve his class conduct and said that his is learning more about relating to others in healthy ways. Thanks to his sponsorship he was able to receive medical care and medicine through the New Song clinic. Ronnie is still playing baseball through the sports ministry at New Song Mission. He was thrilled to receive his new baseball uniform and cleats before the official opening day in January. Ronnie said that he dreamed of nothing except baseball the night before their first game. Ronnie loves to play and is so excited because his team has won every game they have played.

Ronnie continues to work hard in fourth grade. Ronnie has a C average overall. His best grades are 90% in PE, 85% in Cultural Studies and 84% in Language Arts. Although his math class is difficult, Ronnie has been very interested to learn division of four digit numbers. He received his new uniform and shoes for the second semester of classes. Once again Ronnie’s sponsorship allowed him to received medical care and medicine through the New Song clinic. Ronnie was so excited because his baseball team finished in first place at the end of the season. They will begin their second season in August and Ronnie hopes that his team will once again win first place! Ronnie has hit a growth spurt this month. We cannot believe how much he has grown! Ronnie’s mom left for Panama to work. Ronnie and his older sister continue to be cared for by their grandma. Ronnie and Alison miss their mom, but are thankful that she calls them every day.
