Bio

Rosa lives with her parents and two siblings. Their family is very involved in New Song church but struggle financially. Rosa's dad is often unemployed. He searches for work as he is able, but due to limited opportunities without a degree he often struggles to provide for his family's basic needs. Rosa graduated from high school in December 2013 as the top student in her class. She is extremely intelligent and a very dedicated student. She also loves to dance and to work with children. Rosa teaches the 7-8 year old girls' Sunday school class at our church in Candelaria. Rosa will begin her first year of university in March 2014. She dreams of studying journalism and working for a television station.

June 25, 2014

Rosa began her first year of university in March studying journalism. She is really enjoying her classes and gaining a better understanding of her major. Rosa continues to teach Sunday school as she has for the last four years. She enjoys her class of girls (ages 9-12) and they love her! She is an excellent teacher and works so well with these girls. She was so excited to get to meet you and asks about you often.

April 28, 2015

Rosa is doing well in university. She loves the field that she has chosen to study and getting to practice some of those things. In February and March, Rosa took exams and finished her first year of university. University students do not get much of a “summer break” and her classes for the second year also began in March. She passed all of her exams even though there are a few classes that are particularly difficult for her. Rosa began a special photography class offered by New Song Mission. We are excited for this opportunity that Rosa has to grow in this specific field of study especially as it relates to her university studies. She will be able to participate in several assignments that she will get to travel around Nicaragua with her class. Rosa’s family is going through a difficult time right now. Her dad has been absent from the family emotionally and has begun to push them out of his life. This is a difficult time for Rosa and her family but they are trusting the Lord to provide for them. Rosa continues to teach Sunday school and New Song’s Candelaria church. She does an incredible job and her girls love her. She teaching girls who are ten to twelve years old.

Fall 2016

Rosa continues to do well in her classes. She is currently in her third year of university and is working hard to keep her grades up. Recently, she was completing a project over the course of several months. The class practiced interview skills both being interviewed and doing the interviewing. Rosa really enjoys what she is studying and is excited about her future job opportunities in this field. Rosa attends weekly Bible study at New Song and actively participates in what they are learning about. We have seen a lot of growth in Rosa over the last year both spiritually and in her maturity.
