Bio

Rosa lives with her parents and two siblings. She began the second grade in February 2015 and her favorite class is Language Arts. Rosa's parents work in the sugar cane fields. The harvest season is only six months of the year. During the six months of unemployment, it is difficult for the parents to provide for the family. In her free time, Rosa loves to color and play with her family and neighbors. When she grows up, Rosa dreams of becoming a teacher.

April 2016

Rosa and her family are so excited about her sponsorship! This is such a blessing to their family. She began third grade in February. Rosa received her uniform, shoes, backpack, school supplies and an athletic outfit to participate in her PE class. Rosa has been reviewing basic multiplication and division in her math class. In Language & Literature, she has been learning to complete dialogues and write paragraphs. Rosa is a hard working student and faithfully attends class each day. She also comes to weekly tutoring sessions to improve her class performance. Rosa joined a baseball team through New Song’s sports ministry. She loves to be a part of the team!

Fall 2016

Rosa continues to work hard in third grade. She has a B+ average overall in her classes. Her best grades are 100% in both PE and Cultural Studies and 95% in Natural Science. Through her sponsorship, Rosa received a dental cleaning, fluoride treatment, and teaching on dental hygiene. She and her family also received moringa from New Song Mission. This vitamin supplement can help increase their nutrition even while eating mostly rice and beans. We long to provide preventative health care to all students in our program. Rosa also received a new uniform and pair of shoes for the second semester of classes. Thanks to her sponsorship, Rosa’s class now has a water bucket to supply the students with water during the school day. She was also able to cook a traditional Nicaraguan meal to present in her Cultural Studies class. Rosa loved the opportunity to meet Cam and Landon while they were visiting Nicaragua in August. It was such a blessing to her and her family to meet part of the family that sponsors her education.
